HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND MILESTONES
It has been a long walk of faith, From a vision granted to Dr. P. N. Kurien in 1969 to train young men and equip them to be beacons of the faith in distant unevangelised lands. The beginnings were very humble. From small rented apartments to a little larger building and then to the present campuses at paranthal and shahurpur, they are the answer to the fervent prayers of God’s people. “For who hath despised the day of small things?” Zech 4:10
1957
The Lord brought All India Prayer Fellowship into existence through a vision granted to Dr. P.N. Kurien, to unite Christians for a revival in the Church and to fulfil the Great Commission.
1969
The harvest truly is plenteous but labourers few. India Bible Institute was started to train and send forth soul winners.
1971
First batch of trainees sent out to un-evangelised fields and the ‘regions beyond’
1978
The Lord provides India Bible Institute with a campus of its own at Q-4 Hauz Khas, in the heart of the city.
1983
The Lord provides India Bible Institute with another campus at Paranthal, Kerala where Bible courses are offered in Malayalam medium.
1988
One more short-term training centre started at Trivandrum, kerala.
1989
Of the Immanuel Theological Seminary started at the rural campus at Delhi, as an extension program of the Immanuel Theological Seminary, Georgia, USA.
1991
Immanuel Theological Seminary starts its external program to provide pastors, evangelists and Christian ministers, theological education while serving in local churches and mission fields.
1998
Building plans, lying with Government for 25 years, is finally approved. A beautiful campus in the capital city of Delhi takes shape
2001
A dream comes true. Construction of the All India Prayer Fellowship Campus completed. India Bible Institute and Immanuel Theological Seminary move to the new campus.
Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister and Bishops of Mar Thoma, CNI and Methodist Churches inaugurate the New Campus Facilities at Shahurpur, New Delhi.
2002
India Bible Institute throws open its doors to women desirous of equipping themselves in the Word of God.
2006
Immanuel Theological Seminary begins its Master of Theology Programs.
