Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a born-again Christian with at least 2 years of professing of Jesus Christ as his/her personal Saviour.

2. The applicant should have received baptism.

3. He/She should have a commitment for Christian ministry.

4. He/She should be an active member of a Church and involved in Church activities.

5. The applicant should pass the entrance examination held at the Seminary.

6. The minimum age requirements for those enrolling for the following courses are as below:

16 years for G.Th (Diploma)

19 years for B.Th/B.A Theology

21 years for B.D

24 years for M.Th

7. Educational Qualifications: Applicants should have

10th /SSLC pass for enrolling for G.Th

12th /PUC pass for enrolling for B.Th/B.A Theology

B.A/B.Sc/B.Th pass for enrolling for B.D

B.D/M.Div with 1 year of experience for enrolling for M.Th

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following documents will have to be submitted.

1. Official Application Form: Every column should be duly filled. Incomplete forms will berejected without notice.

2. Personal Testimony in about 300 words (2 pages) which includes one’s spiritualconversion (born-again experience), baptism, call to study theology at India Bible Instituteand Immanuel Theological Seminary.

3. Education Transcript: Photo copies of all transcripts which include all mark sheetsfrom 10th grade onwards and conduct certificate should be enclosed. Original documentswilt have to be brought for interview and submitted at the time of registration.

4. Photographs: Two recently taken photographs (passport size) should be attached. Ifselected, another four photographs should be submitted at the time of registration.

5. Pastor’s Recommendation Letter: A recommendation letter from the pastor wherethe applicant was last worshiping should be enclosed. The Pastor should have knownthe applicant for at least two years. He must vouch for the applicant’s character,involvement in church activities and suitability for Seminary studies. If the applicanthimself is a pastor, a recommendation letter from their Bishop / Head of the Associationor Church should be attached.

6. Personal References; Two reference letters from elders of the Church who are notrelatives and who have known the applicant for at least two years should be enclosed.

7. Medical Certificate: A Medical Certificate by a physician indicating that the applicantis free from any chronic or communicable diseases and is physically able to meet thechallenges of Seminary life.

8. Statement of Financial Commitments; The sponsors/parents of the applicantshould give an undertaking to meet the financial obligation towards his/her studies.

9. Transfer of Credits: Those seeking to transfer their credits and continue their theologicalstudies at India Bible Institute and Immanuel Theological Seminary should bring originaltranscript of credits, conduct certificate, and reasons for transfer from the previousSeminary.

10. Refugee/Foreign students: Foreign students should have residential visas for at least three years. Refugee students/ students seeking asylum should produce the relevant documents when seeking admission. However they may have to discontinue if they are not granted asylum/refugee status and asked by the Government of India to leave the country. Students from SAARC countries may enrol after getting the required clearances.

Entrance Examination and Interview

Those seeking admission for the various theological courses will have to pass an entranceexamination in English, Bible Knowledge and General Knowledge. The entrance examinationis aimed primarily to know the scholastic preparation and the ability of the candidate topursue theological education. The medium of teaching is English, and therefore, a goodknowledge of English is a must. The entrance examination is usually held In the first week ofJuly. The exact dates for the examination are intimated in the call letter. Applicants whohavent received a call letter before the 30th of June have to contact the Registrar’s officeand find out the date of examination. Entrance examinations will be held at India BibleInstitute Campus at New Delhi and Kerala. The results are announced the same day or bythe next day. Interviews will be held soon after. The admission is strictly on the prerogativeof the admission committee.

Registration Requirements

Those candidates who have been selected through the entrance examination and interviewwill need to register for their respective theological courses immediately. Those registeringlate may forfeit their seats to some other suitable candidate.

The following documents have to be submitted at the time of registration.

1. Original mark sheets of their previous training.

2. Original Baptism Certificate.

3. Birth Certificate.

4. Four additional Photographs.

Re-Admission Policy

Those who had to discontinue their theological education due to personal/financial reasonsmay re-apply for continuation of their studies if it is within two years of discontinuation.However, it will be subject to the following condition:

1. Course discontinuation was after prior permission of the Dean/Director.

2. His/Her character and conduct should have been good during the previous tenure.

3. The student should have shown evidence of academic progress in the previousmark sheets.

4. A letter of explanation about the circumstances which made him/her discontinue thecourse and what he/she was doing during the said period should be submitted.Re-admisslon fees as applicable should be remitted at the account’s office.

Transfer of Academic Credits

Students wanting to transfer their academic credits from another Seminary to India Bible Institute and Immanuel Theological Seminary may place a request with all official documents to the Dean/Registrar. This will include the original mark sheets, conduct certificate and reason of transfer from the previous seminary. Weightage for the credits will be considered by the academic committee on the basis of the spiritual and academic standards of the previous
Seminary. No transfer of credits is granted for courses taken by correspondence or distant learning programs from unaccredited institutions.

Withdrawal

If a student of India Bible Institute and Immanuel Theological Seminary finds it necessary to withdraw from the college, he must report to the Registrar/Dean and complete the necessary form to make his withdrawal official. Withdrawal by telephone, email or fax is not accepted and will be accepted only after proper completion of the withdrawal forms and clearing of all Seminary dues. Refund of tuition fees may be referred to in the financial affairs section of the prospectus.
