General Academic Schedules
The regular academic year has two semesters. The first semester starts in the second week of July and extends up to the third week of December. This is followed by a three week Christmas (winter) break. The second semester begins in the second week of January and goes on to the third week of May. This is followed by a six week recess for summer. Each semester has a minimum of eighteen weeks of classes. Each week has eighteen to twenty hours of instructions. The program is planned in such a way that the students spend at least another thirty hours in the Library. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 09:20 A.M to 12:30 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. to 3:40 P.M. This includes a forty five minutes of morning Chapel services conducted by the faculty or guest speakers. Weekly one afternoon session is dedicated for seminars, debates, paper presentations etc. Once in a week morning Chapel session is used for Homiletics evaluation of the students’ sermons by the faculty. Evening Chapel services are conducted by the students under close supervision of the residential faculty.
Student Attendance and Leave Policy
Students are expected to attend all scheduled class sessions. They should put in at least 90% of the attendance in each subject they register for. A maximum of 10% absence from classes will be excused which will include sick leave. Hence students are advised to save their leave for any emergency. Another 5% leave will be granted in exceptional and genuine cases, but at the prerogative of the academic committee. Late coming at the beginning of the semester and at the start of the classes is thoroughly discouraged. Students are expected to attend extra classes, seminars, conference or any other spiritual or academic sessions specially arranged for them, which are announced from time to time by the Dean/Registrar.
Policy on Admission
Admission to the India Bible Institute and Immanuel Theological Seminary will be considered a privilege. Admission may be reserved to those who show evidence of genuine Christian experience and a call to Christian service, in addition to their scholastic preparation as mentioned in the eligibility for the various theological courses. They should have a personal experience of Christ as their Savour for at least two years. They should have a personal, regular and active involvement in the Church activities. The applicant should be baptised member of a local Church. Evidence of their good Christian character and participation in Church activities should be reflected in the pastors’ recommendation letter.

A demand draft or money order of Rs 75.00 drawn in favour of ‘All India Prayer Fellowship’ should accompany the request. The last date for receiving the duly filled-in applications from prospective students is June 7th. Late application fees of Rs 50.00 will be charged for those applying after the above date. Applications once received by the Registrar’s office will be processed immediately and a call letter is sent to the prospective student. If no communication is received by the 15th of June, the Registrar/ Dean may be contacted over the telephone at the numbers mentioned above. The application forms which are not complete with all necessary documents may be rejected. The applicants who are called will have to appear for an / entrance examination and interview usually held in the first week of July.
